What Is Chef Appreciation Week?

Chef Appreciation Week is the largest celebration of chefs and culinarians globally, supported across 30+ countries by multiple foodservice and hospitality operations. Co-founded by Donald and Lisa Crutch, Chef Appreciation Week is celebrated every September as a way of recognizing the hardworking culinarians across industries.

How Can You Celebrate Your Chefs?

There are many ways to acknowledge the hard work of the chefs in your operations. Here are a few ideas:

Host a celebratory event. From a large gathering to a catered lunch, gathering your chefs for the occasion is a great way to say thanks.

Shout out some of your hardworking chefs. A little recognition can go a long way. Consider highlighting some of your team members on social media or in organizational announcements.

Offer a token of appreciation. Anything from a gift card to new cooking equipment can make your associates feel appreciated this week.

You want to show your chefs that you care all year long, but calling special attention to their work now can help them feel acknowledged and appreciated.
